The Cat and FiddleThe route has been posted - more Run Report from CarpetStu Cheshire kit car show Via the infamous Cat and Fiddle
Thanks to Gooders and his trusty Auto route mapping, a route was planned to take us from our usual meeting point at the Spread Eagle, Gailey, Staffordshire through Penkridge - Leek and onto the Cat and Fiddle for a leisurely drive over the top to arrive at our destination, the show.
The drive up the A520 through Leek was perilous due to the local Council obviously finding a spare pallet of speed cameras. Every 20 yards there was the luminous sight of the ever growing number of those hated yellow boxes on sticks. Never the less we avoided capture and with the help of my trusty navigator, the honorary member Oliver (a Dutton driver), we found our way onto the cat and Fiddle.
We had been warned by many to be careful over here as the local police had many ways of enforcing he speed limits, Scubbies - helicopters etc. So in usual Westfield style we ignored all advice and buried the accelerators. (within Legal tolerances of course). God it was fun Hee Hee.
There was one particular right hand corner that needed a touch of left foot braking and the tyres let me know they weren't best pleased with my attempt at ninety degree turns.
Arriving at the show we lined our small convoy, six cars in all, alongside the other Westfields. Considering we where told this was a relatively small show the turn out was very good, as was the weather.
It was good to attend the show and have a relaxing day chatting to other Westfield owners and members of other car clubs. Thanks to all the organisers who made us all vey welcome. On route from Cannock the Famous Cat and Fiddle Pub
